We are here to ensure every mountain biker from beginner to expert has the tools and resources they need to get the most out of their Blue Derby mountain biking experience. Our main focus is customer service partnered with creating a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for all who enter the Derby Bike Shop. We are Claire and Damien, two mad mountain bikers from New Zealand’s South Island who now call Australia home. After many holidays to Tasmania, riding the world class trails and falling in love with this beautiful state, we packed up our lives in Queensland and made the move to Derby.
Our primary reason for moving to Derby was to fulfil our dream of opening our own mountain bike shop to spread the positivity, inclusion and enjoyment that mountain biking brings, and what better place to do this than at Australia’s best mountain bike trails!? Our passion for riding and helping others has created a strong mission for the Derby Bike Shop.
The Derby Bike Shop’s mission is to ensure every mountain biker from beginner to expert has the tools and resources they need to get the most out of their holiday to Derby. We care strongly about customer service and providing a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere for all visitors to our shop. There are no questions too small or trivial to ask us and we will strive to answer each and every one to the best of our ability.
We are passionate about promoting women in mountain biking and smashing down the walls of divide. Our shop will be stocked high with a wide range of both women’s and men’s apparel in all shapes and sizes.
Our services will be fast, efficient and affordable, without the added ‘tourist tax’. A priority will be put on fixing personal bikes to get the riders back on the trails as soon as possible, shredding with the bike they know and love.
